The exhibition brings together paintings by Caspar David Friedrich, sketchbooks by William Turner, graphic works by Francisco de Goya, Anselm Kiefer and Jorinde Voigt, sculptures by Auguste Rodin, Rebecca Horn and John Baldessari, a performative sculpture by Tino Sehgal, a video by Guido van der Werve and much more, all of which are brought into dialogue with the music and persona of Beethoven.
Van Gogh, Cézanne, Matisse, Hodler : The Hahnloser Collection
one of the most important private collections of French modernist art, including Pierre Bonnard, Ferdinand Hodler, Henri Matisse, and Félix Vallotton. Later on, the collection also came to include works by their predecessors including Cézanne, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, and others.
Also Vienna's other artistic highlights including:
a tour of the rest of the Kunsthistorisches Museum’s fabulous collection (Titian, Rubens, Caravaggio, Holbein, Van Dyck, Vermeer, Rembrandt etc.); and visits to the Upper Belvedere (Klimt’s ‘The Kiss’), the Leopold Museum (for Egon Schiele and other modern masters), the Karlskirche, the Albertina (for Munch, Chagall, Picasso) and the newly-restored Secession building.
