Formerly the centre of the Spanish empire, Madrid is a city steeped in world-class art. Take advantage of the tremendous breadth of collections like the Prado (full day visit) and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum including its temporary exhibition 'Women Masters.'
Featuring nearly 100 works, including paintings, sculptures, works on paper and textiles, the exhibition is curated from a feminist viewpoint by Rocío de la Villa. Artists: Artemisia Gentileschi, Angelica Kauffmann, Clara Peeters, Rosa Bonheur, Mary Cassatt, Berthe Morisot, María Blanchard, Natalia Goncharova, Sonia Delaunay and Maruja Mallo.
We will also visit the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, home to Picasso’s seminal ‘Guernica,’ the Sorolla Museum, and the Contemporary Art Museum.
